Training Fees beyond the Means
While waiting for government-funded services, some parents would seek private therapies, which cost HK$600 to HK$1,000 or more per session. Such expensive fees are beyond the means of most low-income families.
Even for children receiving government-funded services, they are also in dire need of additional and timely training on top of those funded by the government, but unfortunately deprived of the opportunities owing to financial constraints. The ensuing lack of additional professional training, in turn, raises roadblocks to the development of their full potential.
